Licensed for Civil Ceremonies
You can be married here under one of our three licences giving a choice of sites for your ceremony. [We’re also licensed to stay open until 1am].

How many guests?
You can invite 400+ guests and sit comfortably in our fabulous wedding-white marquee. You choose your layout, with a dance floor that can be located wherever you want it.

Fabulous scenery
And, of course, you can count on the photographs and videos of your very special day being spectacular against the wonderful natural backdrop.

Extraordinary extras
And it’s all set against the river flowing by, huge expanses of green lawn, surrounded by a nature reserve, with attentive staff who are ready to make your event amazing.

Covid-19 Ready
We have stepped up precautionary arrangements throughout our venue and hotel to help guard against the spread of Covid-19 and the safety of our guests and employees is of paramount importance to us.

Catering
You can choose to work with our Executive Chef on a sumptuous menu for your guests or bring in caterers from our preferred list, who will create the perfect wedding buffet.

Professional presentation
You can have a platform or a dance floor, and there’s a full in-house AV production system to make your celebration perfectly professional.

Stay over
Stay in our bridal suite, and there are 14 beautiful rooms, including family rooms for your guests. There are more rooms being added and further plans for additional accommodation in the future.

Parking
There is a large car park and overflow car parking to accommodate all your guests.

The original building, that is now the Pike & Eel pub-restaurant-hotel was built in 1608. You can still see the priest’s hole, in the private dining room, where the Catholic priests escaped underground to avoid persecution. Until the mid-1999s the original building was owned by the Bygraves family. John Stafferton, the son-in-law of the Mr Bygraves, ran the pub and eventually bought out his brother-in-law at the end of the 1980s.
